Summer of Wonder: Art Camp
Join Paint Love for a Summer of Wonder at our Art Camp for kids ages 7-11.
Paint Love’s summer camp is as unique as each child. Led by Paint Love educators and artists, each week of camp includes daily movement and intentional community building to welcome kids into exploring their own creative process and practice social-emotional skill building. We’ll get messy, have fun, and make new friends all while creating together. Children will leave Paint Love’s Week of Wonder camps thinking a little more intentionally about how their selves and stories shape and are shaped by art and how to put their creative brains to use as good stewards of the relationships and spaces we share.

registration process
Paint Love camp works a little bit differently than other camps. Here are the steps for applying:
Apply by filling out the application. You’ll pay a $50 application fee that will go toward your camp payment if your child is accepted and will be refunded in full if for any reason we are not able to accommodate your child in camp this year.
Family Programs Manager, Chloe Young, will reach out to all applicants and set up a phone call to learn more about your child.
Once your child is accepted, Chloe will send you a link to pay to finalize and reserve your child’s spot.

9:40 – 10:10 Art School: Learn and practice a new skill, technique, strategy, or pro-tip. This is the guided art instruction segment of our program.
10:10 – 11:00 Snack and choice time : Enjoy a healthy snack and then… you decide! Return to your morning projects, play a game, or just hang out – you make the choice. We will provide nutritional snacks and beverages based on parent and camper preferences

12:45 – 2:30 Inspired Art Projects: Think about big ideas with an artist’s mind, and use your own good ideas to create art that is all your own. This is a time for guided art projects based on themes presented through stories and picture books or on the work of other artists.
2:30 – 2:45 Looking back and planning ahead: Share your ideas about what was great about the day and what could be even better for tomorrow, and we’ll all brainstorm together about how to make that happen. We will close each day’s session with this opportunity for self-reflection, envisioning and community building.
3:00-5:30 (Optional) Film Studies After-Care: Spend the afternoon watching a movie that expands on the theme of the day. Afterwards, campers will create art based on the film.
